LEADERSHIP

The Scriptures gives two offices for the local church, elders and deacons. Both offices are one of great responsibility and qualifications (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, Acts 6) It is our belief that healthy churches are led by a plurality of elders.  Elders are male pastors who shepherd the flock of God by leading the church in its spiritual efforts and to equip the saints for the work of ministry. Deacons, according to scripture, are to be "servants" to the flock. They do so by taking up specific areas of ministry to help lead in practical tasks. The New Testament also makes it clear concerning the priesthood of all believers. Each individual member holds great responsibility in the local church. Any staff person of FCC will be simply be a faithful church member who is using their gifts of service in a staff role.

Faith Community Church stands on the word of God concerning the leadership of the church. We believe a great way to summarize the offices is this; elder-led, deacon-served, members-affirmed.
